Gone are the days of the simplistic media landscape of radio, TV and newspapers only – when businesses had less advertising choice and consumers were a more captive audience.
Savvy businesspeople understand that consumers are savvier than ever and are taking control of their media consumption.
This is something that the team at Southern Cross Austereo understand and have harnessed. Not only do they provide an aggregated approach to audiences (through their two flagship brands Triple M and Hit), they have expanded by launching the Podcast One network last year and have 17 local TV news services across their network, with over 2,500 staff across Australia.
CEO and Managing Director of Southern Cross Austereo, Grant Blackley is also a champion for regional audiences, and believes that it is a great opportunity for businesses to leverage their brand.
Grant joined the Southern Cross Austereo Board in June 2015 and is responsible for leading the strategic and operational performance of the company. He has enjoyed a distinguished career with more than 30 years experience in the media and entertainment sectors.
Grant has served in numerous senior leadership roles including at the TEN Network, as CEO from 2005 to 2010. Prior to becoming CEO, he held key roles in network sales, digital media and multi-channel program development as well as being responsible for group strategy, acquisitions and executive leadership and development.
At our luncheon, Grant will discuss media laws and changes in the media landscape, as well as what is next for Southern Cross Austereo.
